Bright Books
Research conducted over the last decade revealed that the most successful way to improve the reading achievement of low-income children is to increase their access to printed materials. Yet, recent studies discovered that 61% of low-income families own no books for their children. That's why ASKT is committed to providing all of our students with home libraries. Each month, every student in the ASKT program receives a brand new children's book to take home month and share with their family and friends. ASKT also holds Family Literacy Nights, where parents join an ASKT session, and students receive 10 or more used books!
