Hold a Bookdrive!
The most successful way to improve the reading achievement of low-income children is to increase their access to printed materials. Yet, recent studies discovered that 61% of low-income families own no books for their children.
As a means of addressing these concerns, once a month every student in the ASKT program receives a free, new book to take home. All-Star Kids also distributes gently used books to students at Family Literacy Nights. These “Bright Books” are purchased with funds from grants and donations, or donated by individuals. By holding a book drive for All-Star Kids, you help encourage a love of reading in children!
